What good "Art House" Movies are out there this weekend?
Edited on Fri Aug-29-03 04:56 PM by KoKo01
I don't want violence, I don't wan't kinky, I don't want disturbing "in my face or soul" stuff.......I just want to ESCAPE. I've heard about a British film about a castle and two young girls and their families in the 1930's....don't remember the name....has anyone seen it? It's an "Art House" film.

Anything else? It either needs to be "upbeat" or a "period piece" I can't handle anything else.

Anything good? Other than renting "Breakfast at Tiffany's," that is........or "What About Bob," or any Goldie Hawn movie.

1. Have you seen
It's a "feel-good" movie that doesn't insult your intelligence. We also liked "dirtyprettythings"/ Stephen Frears, director. But it doesn't fit your profile. Has some violence...is disturbing. But it's a very good movie.

7. The Amelie actress
is in DirtyPrettyThings. I rented Amelie for my husband as my daughter and I went to see it when it came out. He liked it. It's one of my daughter's favorite movies. She bought the DVD.

18. Terminator 3?
kidding!

we'll probably go see SWAT or something equally as mindless tonight

I still need to go see Seabiscuit since it will probably win all sorts of Oscars. Those movies always win.

13. Thanks, Cheswick...I saw Whale Rider......I found it depressing......
I know......you wonder why........I am So Glad this movie was made.....but being an environmentalist/romantic....I've seen so much like this.....that I felt depressed that we hadn't moved beyond this in the "Environmental Movement" and that protecting our "environment" seems so hard and "futile" today, no matter how hard we try......

But, I recommend it........I just had trouble being depressed for days after......I need "fluff" this weekend.

:-)'s
