There's been a wee bit of excess moisture in the skies of Dallas today- I haven't bothered looking for the stats, but I DO know my Ford Ranger was almost swept off the street two different times (driving across the city from Flower Mound to Rowlett, which ain't a small hop). And now the arthritic ache is settling in for a visit. Little does it know I have plenty of Tramadol on hand...

1. I think I broke a toe today |
|
I was with my daughter today at a park that contains some falls in the shallow part of a small river. We were wading through the water and I slipped on some mud on the rocks, but caught myself with a toe. It is now throbbing. Do I see a doctor or do I stick it out?

2. Not much for a broken toe |
|
I've broken one before and all they do is tape it the toe next to it and tell you to stay off of it. My doc even told to just do it myself next time and save the money. And yes it will hurt ALOT!

Even if you don't believe the skin has been compromised, you can still get infection- I once stubbed a toe on a rock, and didn't have it looked at. It remained sore and began to swell. After it became intolerable I had it looked at. It was immediately lanced- the toe was full of infection! The rock was an ornamental chunk of quartz that was on the floor in the hallway of my sister's house. The skin was never broken.
