Poll question: Best Gladys Knight Song
I love this woman, but I forget to listen to her often enough. This morning we (that is the royal we BTW) are listening to a selection of songs we have in a music file. So what is your favorite Gladys Knight song? Mine is Help Me Make it Through the Night.

4. Obscure, but, she was in a movie called Pipeline
And there was a song in that movie called "So Sad the Song that Says Goodbye"

It's one of my favorite songs, period.

8. I had a friend who played for her in Florida
when ever she would come to florida he would be her pianist. He is a jazz musician and thinks she is the greatest.

7. if i were your woman
in fact, i'm downloading it now :D thanks for the good wishes, cheswick. yes...in addition to being a poet, i am an accountant. the main skill it requires is the ability to stay awake while doing mind-numbingly boring tasks, and to deal with other accountanting types, who are generally not poets :hi:

10. "Licence to Kill"
Made #2 on the UK charts in 1989!

The other songs you'd mentioned are also quite good!

11. "My Imagination"
Is a personal favorite. The bass line is killer. My band used to do that song. I sang it. I had to not only change the key, despite the fact that I can often sing female songs in the original keys, but I had to keep all of the melody in one octave. How she does that first verse so low and the rest so high is completely beyond me. But then, Gladys ... is ... god.

12. You know what?
Gladys Knight is a woman whose voice I LOVE and yet I can't think of very many songs that she's come out with that I like. So I would have to vote "none of the above." Great voice, though.
