Yippie, he called back!!!!!!!!
I felt like an awkward teenager as I don't often converse with people, especially if they sound really cute! (y'all don't know the half of it!)

We chatted for 21 minutes, but he had to get going and get ready as he's going out of town tomorrow. But he thinks I'm a nice guy and wants to meet me! :-) So hopefully Monday around noonish.

He's an extrovert and can, so far, ask questions to keep things going and I try to be the same in return. Which is great he can hold up the discussion or start the ball rolling because I have that pathetic "I won't speak until spoken to" style which I hate! :D

The one thing I thought interesting was he voted for Republican at the last election, he kinda regrets it now. But I won't hold it against him (he's no neo-con); and besides he's got a really sexy voice! :D All the people looking for relationships in their ads seem to be Republican and there are plenty of ads I'd otherwise avoid entirely because they're too gross or too suspicous. He's honest and upfront and I dig that.

The odd part was he was kinda hinting at more than a date if things worked well. Naturally, I stumbled at the question because I actually am shy and prudish. And mostly because I don't want to scare him off!

But I've got to get out more often, that's indisputable! :-)

I'm now actually writing down things to say to him on Monday so I don't seem totally crackers... but he sounds easygoing and casual, and has a hilarious sense of humor!

Thanks for reading and thanks for your concern about online services. I'm not getting any bad vibes and he's suggesting the same things I would.

1. There now, ya see?
you really are a nice person....and that comes across no matter what impression YOU think you're giving.

So stop worrying and relax.

4. LOL! (or at least a hearty chuckle!)
Thanks!

I'd forgotton all about the dating scene, especially my history of stumbling with dates on a converstional level. :D

He also told me of a great place to shoot a photo of Minneapolis. All I'm waiting for is for the evening weather to be the way I want it (no evil clouds puffing up the picture). Very nice of him. He used to be in photography...

He was married until about a year ago as well. I'll probably not tapdance into that topic of conversation unless he brings it up again...

He's definitely an 'average joe' sort of fella. I wish he were more intellectual, but time will tell! :D

3. Make a friend, first.
Then, make a lover out of the friend. THAT is the best way.

My best friend was my greatest love and I think she felt the same way. She did want to have my child. She is married and lives in Poland now, doing good work there. Whenever I think of her, my heart gives a little jump of love, pride and yes, pain. But I wouldn't change her or her life for the world.

I fell in love with her in the 5th grade, and I still love her today. She was mnd is, still, my best friend.

I hope you grok what I am saying here.

12. I'm hip to that, thanks!
Some people engage in a one-nighter and end up life-partners. Unless we reeeeeally clicked I wouldn't be comfortable with just jumping into bed...

5. Be yourself!
That's the very, very best thing you can do. Let your natural charm shine. If there's chemistry, you'll know immediately. Don't be in a rush--that's the surest path to disappointment.

Congrats, and good luck! Sounds very exciting. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.

And don't worry about the Repub thing. I am a reformed Repub myself, and now I'm so flamingly liberal I can't believe it. I drag my daughter to protest rallies and political marches. Who do we have to thank for my transformation? The shrub, of course, in all his liquored-up glory.

9. Which types of chemistry are important?
I rarely have that eye-to-eye physiological chemistry stuff I haven't experienced in 9 years... My ex didn't have that but we clicked in other ways, namely personality - we could converse. That's what I'm hoping for here. I'm hoping he's the same way.

I'll definitely try not to worry about the Repub stuff. Today's phone call made me aware at how jaded I've become. And that's not good, especially since I try to come across as someone level-handed and just! (my favorite acquaintances are Republican as well; both moderates. But don't worry, my best friend is definitely a liberal! Pity he's not gay as he's otherwise perfect. In terms of personality, physical appearance doesn't mean as much to me anymore... going to stop now before I tread into TMI territory as I'm not an utter saint as I'm painting myself to be! )

11. Yippie?
http://free.freespeech.org/yippie/about/yippies/

I'm far more likely to be a Yippie than he! :D I hope that doesn't put him off, I'm getting the impression he wants somebody "normal" and average, how boring is that? :D
