Attention HyVee shoppers!
On the tube tonight we have nonstop Faux News!

I had occasion to eat at the deli at a Hy Vee deli in town. The food was ok and the staff were helpful as to be expected. When I sat down to eat I noticed a TV set on. This being Saturday, I thought it would be nice to watch some college football with my meal. I looked around and no one else seemed to be even looking at the TV. So I asked the cashier for the deli if I could turn the station to a football game. What she told me absolutely astounded me. She said that the TV was set to pick up Faux News and only Faux News with a direct feed from the corporate office. Does Faux have some sort of deal with companies to carry their feed?

1. That's it...

... no more grocery shopping at Hy-Vee for me. I'll stick to stores supplied by Affiliated Foods (Shur-Fine, Shur-Fresh) out of Norfolk, Nebraska, and Nash-Finch out of the Twin Cities. Hy-Vee tends to overprice things, anyway.

3. HyVee in town?
Where are you from? I miss HyVee's. I used to live in Iowa and they were the best grocery stores I've found anywhere.

4. Eastern South Dakota...

... and Hy-Vee can be a nice place to shop, I even worked there for awhile a few years ago... nice wages, annuity program for all employees, even part-timers. But to dictate that all stores must carry Fox News as the only "television" channel on all corporate televisions leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

5. Mason City.
Yes, they are very clean and the employees are very helpful and friendly. I've always shopped there for the specials every week, but most of my regular shopping is done at another store, due to a lot of their products being more expensive on average than what a Fareway might have.
