Poll question: Do you have FAUX News blocked in your home?
I've heard Freepers talk about how they've blocked the "liberal" media channels like CNN and MSNBC, so who here has done the opposite? I probably would if I had kids

2. Why should we be as stupid as the freepers?
I think part of being a liberal is the tolerance, we want real news and from all views. What kind of news is it if were only getting one side of it.

Blocking certain channels is the freeper way.

5. yeah but if I had kids I wouldn't want them being influenced by that crap
I'd tell to go watch late Cinemax or the Playboy Channel instead.

26. I don't have kids, but if I did
I wouldn't block FoxNews. Yeah, it really sucks. But I would use the station as an opportunity to teach my kids about what's really going on in the world (and I'd just monitor their TV-watching, period, depending on how young they were).

4. why block it?
I watch it and just scream and pound the couch, it's good exercise. I'm glad I'm not in an apartment with thin walls.

6. removed from "Favorites"
I don't have it as one of my "favorites" on my remote, so when I hit "Next channel" it skip[s Faux, just as it skips the shopping channels, CMT, CBS, etc, etc. But it's not "blocked"

8. I Block It So That I Don't Even "Ping" It As I Scroll Through...
... the channel-up key on my remote.

I'm convinced that even 1-second of viewing time is duly noted and reported back to Comcast via the digital cable box. (Come ON people... that's what addressable converters DO!!)

Anyhoo... I don't want to increase their viewing "share" by making it appear as though it were watched.

9. Yep
I don't need 24-7 * propaganda in my house...Actually, it was my 60 year old mother's idea to block it, because it raises her BP too much :P

10. Faux News, AKA The Beaver Network,
... makes me more secure in my opinions. The talking beavers at Faux just point the flaws in their own thinking. It's not hard to see.

13. Do NOT block...but seldom visit...only during BREAKING NEWS
then I skim the faux for their spin...but NEVER for news...switch between CNN...and MSRNC....though it is only when I am not on line! I am on line about 8 hours per day....8 working 8 sleeping...so I am not on TV much if at all...and when I am I watch ditty TV...for entertainment...and seldom newstainment!

14. I dunno about YOU
.... but when MY kids are watching television, it's usually Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon or the Disney Channel.

They give less than a rat's ass about politics.

Being 8 and 11, I can't say that I blame them... when I was their age, I was SERIOUSLY pissed at Richard Nixon... Not because he shredded the Constitution, but because the Watergate hearings put a considerable dent in my cartoon watching ability.

<Old Fart Rant Mode>
Of course back then, we only had SEVEN channels to choose from.... and we LIKED it.

25. Fortunately, it's channel 77 here..
so I don't even have to go past it much when I go through the channels. Therefore, I don't have it blocked.
