so cheap should work. Make sure you get the right one for your main board though...probable PCI in nature but maybe not...also, just for giggles, make sure there isn't one already on your main board...if you bought the system in the last couple of years it may have an integrated card...

Anything with the "Realtek" chipset. Cheap and very good. Universal support across OSs.
