Mens tennis used to be so much more fun to watch than it is now. I'm enjoying it as much as I enjoy watching modern womens tennis. Sharapova lust notwithstanding.

I love it when Connors goes friggin bonkers towards the end, taking the crowd along with him.

6. Connors' fit was almost worthy of |
|
that legendary fit thrower, John McEnroe!

Conners sugar coated his tirades. I noticed he used the phrase, "my butt" instead of "my ass". He did call the judge an "abortion" a few times. :)

3. I remember watching it when it happened |
|
A true treasure. Too bad Krickstein had to end his career early due to injury.

4. Can anyone wonder why Conners never made ÒSportsman of the YearÓ? |

I only wish there was someone who was on as low a learning level as I so I could play more often.
Krickstein was a cutie even with his mullet!

but took lessons with a group of my women friends who were no better than I. We had a blast but I had to give it up. LOVE it, I live for the Slams. I did try to compete once, got clobbered. I don't think more than one of my serves actually went in. It was so funny.

8. Agree. I watched this same match originally years ago |
|
and I was thinking how really exciting tennis was then.
I was never a Jimmy Connors fan, but I saw him at Wimbledon and I must say he was the most exciting player I had ever seen on the court. In those days...I saw them all - Borg, McEnroe etc.
