"I'm sorry, Mr Gordon is on sabbatical this semester working for the Kerry campaign. I'm just housesitting. Call bback sometime after the election."

Got in a plug for Kerry, had a pleasant, though brief conservation, and wasn't rude to her. I think I'm gonna use this with telemarketers a lot.

1. My favorite telemarketer experience.

Telemarketer: "Hello, my name is Dick and I'm calling for Verizon".

Me: "Yeah".

Telemarketer: "I'd like to inform you of our new rate saving plan that's being offered in your area... blah, blah, blah".

Me: "I'm sorry but, I don't have a phone".

Telemarketer: <silence>.............</silence>. "Thank you for your time". "If you have any quest....".

Me: <click>


OK, so maybe that particular prank isn't that original (God knows where I got it from), but it was pretty gratifying. :evilgrin:

like this

Me: "hello"

telemarket: "hi, may i speak to your parents?"

Me:"well, you see.... satan just came out of our um, kitchen floor and sucked their souls out so he could use them as slaves for eternity and so call back later... A lot later"

telemarketer: "yes.... I see..... I'll call back later."

that was my latest one anyways
