7. Never heard it
However, "I Am Woman" was the first 45 I ever bought when I was a kid. I must have been around 7. Guess I knew from an early age I was gonna be a Dem. :-) I never followed her after that or anything but I do appreciate her voice and her contribution to the feminist movement.

8. Delta Dawn.
It was my moms favorite. We played it as we released her ashes into Sebastian Inlet.

20. I voted "Delta Dawn" but all the others mentioned bring back good
memories. She actually did do some good stuff, for sure.

When I was a little dude, I made up my own version of "I Am Woman" that I was rather proud of, that could easily have been caleld "Tribute to Forrest's Little Forrest." Not astoundingly feminist in tone, was that variant.

21. Yeah that's the thing
the memories for sure. I mean nothing sends me flying back to the early 70's like hearing the first few notes of "I Am Woman." I started this as sort of a tongue in cheek thread (guess no one got my "Pete's Dragon" line) but then people started mentioning their memories and favorites I had forgotten about and it turned into something else. Plus, you gotta love any woman who pissed off the conservatives back in the 70's right?

Thanks for playing Forrest :hi:
