Hey Geeks and Wannabees!!!
I bought myself a birthday present! It arrived today! It's a Prolink video card, based upon the Nvidia GForce 5200 chipset. Twin 350mhz RAMDACs, 128 megs of really high-speed RAM, nice fan on the RAMDACs, s-video, LCD display and VGA out. The 3d is incredible and the 2d is also hugely improved. Only $72.00 at NewEgg(http://www.newegg.com).

Man, this thing is a steal and sweet as honey. I highly recommend it. RTCW:ET, with every video feature set at max, runs smooth as silk and looks like a million.

If you are in the market for a new video card, you cannot go wrong with this one. For the Linux peeps: The NVidia drivers for Linux are stupidly easy to install and work like a champ. You can download the installer package at the Nvidia website, in the support section.

BTW: I will be 51 on the 9th. Dammit.

2. Grrr. Why did I buy another laptop???

It's only got 32MB of VRAM. Actually, if I turn off some of the GUI features and reduce the resolution, I can actually play GTA: Vice City on my TV through the S-Video port... and it doesn't look half bad. (I'd love to play it on a 128MB video card, though...)

5. hmmm
I saw it for €65 a few days ago (if you're talking about a PixelView GF FX5200 ). However I'd take one based on the FX5600 - OK, it's almost twice as expensive, but has the power to back it up.

For a Windows only machine the ATI cards are worth a look - if only the drivers were better.

7. man!
I'll bet the porn looks GOOOOOOOD comin' through that bad boy!

Newegg, btw, rocks the world. It's my first stop now when pieces-parts shopping. And their RMA process is butter-f*ckin'-smooth.
