"Complex picture of female sexuality hinders magic pill"
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2003/08/30/complex_picture_of_female_sexuality_hinders_magic_pill/

"What makes women so much trickier to treat than men? Their hormones and anatomy are more complex and sex has a stronger psychological component for women. New research even suggests that women's sexual orientation is more nuanced than men's.

A study by researchers at Northwestern University in Chicago found that heterosexual women were as aroused by watching films of lesbian sex as by films of sex between a man and a woman. By contrast, heterosexual men were much less aroused by watching films of gay men."

Women's sexual preferences - not so black and white - either/or...

thoughts?

1. How did they do watching films of 2 guys getting it on?
Since guys supposedly like to watch 2 women getting jiggy, and they found that women are the same, and guys don't care to watch guys (i don't mind)I'm curious about women watching guys...

What's that old line?
"Good sex is messy, GREAT sex is messy and loud"...

Nothing soap and water won't fix.

3. i've
never understood the whole lesbian porn thing.. aside from well-build naked women, it just doesn't do anything for me.

i think it comes down to simple evolution. males are supposed to spread their genes as far and as wide as possible.

women want the best possible father for their kids..

what makes sex so interesting is that the whole time men are trying NOT to have an orgasm while the woman is trying the exact opposite :)

7. An interesting observation there about cross-purposes
As for sexuality and magic pills, I've always been amazed by avena sativa, AKA green oats. It works wonders for me, and I know women who love it, too. It was poised to be the big sex thing until viagra came along with it's superior marketing and outrageous profits.

I left some green oats with a former girlfriend once when I was away for a week; apparently the stuff made her so horny she jumped the very next guy who came along. Obviously that wasn't my desired intent, but it makes for an interesting testimonial nonetheless.

Coulda told 'em that. The question is "why."

I think it has a lot to do with the culture. Our culture still portrays men as kings and women as "not-kings." When a king sees a woman having sex with another woman - no problem. In fact, it's kinda interesting. When a king sees a man having sex with another man, - well that's a king abdicating his rightful role - he's chosen to act like a "non-king!" That's wrong - it's evil!

Our culture doesn't tolerate those who slip out of class roles.

11. Not Necessarily
When a guy thinks of two women engaging in sex, he'll more than likely imagine them eventually turning their attentions to him for the "real thing." ie, they're just 'playing lesbo.'

When a woman thinks of two men getting it on, she rarely imagines them as 'queens for a day' (or an hour) who will turn their attentions on her when they're ready for the 'real thing.'

We are far more likely to think of women as having bi tendencies than we are the same with men.

5. what I'm thinking is

http://www.democraticunderground.org/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=263285&mesg_id=263285

In relation to this line of thought - was Elenor Roosevelt gay...?

That many women may not be so black and white about the whole business as some would like to think...and lablel.
