The coppers surronded my house last night-

I get home from work. Take a shot of Goldshlagger, open a beer and go into my Florida room. All of a sudden there are 10 cops in my back yard checking out my yard and garage. I get nervous and ask what is going on. ( mind you I am a law abiding citizen). They are looking to arrest some people who live in the house caddy corner to me. I go back inside real fast.

The humor is- That is the house I used to score smoke in as a kid. 15 years ago. Some things never change..

1. I had a similar experience in college.

I lived in an apartment building with 1/2 interior entrances (my section) and 1/2 exterior entrances. Well, this fella down in the other part of the building decides he's going to hole up with his girlfriend and not let her go. She's on the phone with the cops, so they all show up and surround the place. They start evacuating the building, and they get to me. They ask me to grab what I can in a minute and leave. But, when I leave the building, the cop says, "Stick close to the side of the building so he can't get a shot at you." :o:o:o

Anyway, the SWAT team shows up, and they try coaxing the guy out. He comes out, but refuses to drop his weapon and asks the cops to drop theirs. When they don't, he goes back in. :shrug:

All ended safely though...but that's my weird unexpected cop story. :hi:

5. "COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP" has happened to me at shotgun point!

I worked for a local city hall, and was the primary contact person for emergencies there. Someone set off a silent alarm that dispatched the sheriffs. Although I assured them when they called that I wasn't under duress, I had to come out of City Hall at gunpoint, and KNEW the sheriff pointing the gun at me, they had to follow procedure to get me out of the building in case someone was inside forcing me to say things were ok.

Kinda hairy. Turned out all ok. The sheriffs apologized. All in a day's work! Glad his finger didn't slip.

6. Yikes!

I guess it's a little better knowing the guys with the guns are going to be there, but the feeling of having a gun pointed at you had to be scary! :scared:

3. Here is our crazy cop story.

We were eating dinner last summer (hubby,kids, my poor grandmother and me). My daughter turns to me and says calmly," Mom, there's a man down the street shooting a gun, look." Sure as *bleep*, there is a man, two of them, charging a house gun drawn and firing. Of course my husband has to go open the door and find out what is going on.

Turns out it was a drug bust (here in suburbia-see it does happen everywhere) and the arrested folk (in their nightclothes) were a 60-ish couple who grew and sold marijuana. They bashed the door down and the whole bit. If you ask me, this is a bit much for that type of offense, and given the people they were after.

I always liked this couple, and it was very sad to see them lose their house (the nicest kept one on the block) and their lives. I did call and complain about the commando style bust.

4. I forgot to mention

I am drinking my beer and peeking out the window. They take three young men away. Hand cuffs and all.

7. A few years back . . .

In San Bernardino, California, some friends and I were on a road trip and stopped at Wendy's for some fast food. Now, one of our group didn't like Wendy's and wanted to go across the street to McDonalds for his food, so he does this, and being the young ass that he is, he thinks the people in Wendy's will get mad if he rejoins us with a McDonalds bag, so he shoves it under his coat and comes back into Wendy's to join us.

So we all sit down to eat and we're laughing and joking, when all of a sudden there are 10 cops in the place, guns drawn and pointing them at us (I damn near choked on my Dave's Deluxe). Threatening us, searching us, didn't handcuff us, but had us all on the floor, etc.

So, after all the turmoil dies down, we find out that this asshole kid (actually the younger brother of a friend of mine that brought hiim along) was asked when he came through the door of Wendy's what was under his jacket (while holding a McDonalds bag under his jacket). What does this idiot say? Well, being from a small town and thinking with a small-town mentality where such jokes are acceptable, he tells them "it's a gun." He doesn't realize that his is a shit part of town and the Wendy's has been robbed 5 times in 3 months :).

Just goes to show you what a dumbass kid with a wise mouth can do :).

9. Having spent considerable time in San Bernardino

(especially in the Central City Mall area), I can confidently say that nearly every part of this supposedly "All-American City" is the "shit part".

8. I was a suspected flasher!

I was on my way to the bus stop at 5:45 one blustery cold morning when a cop car swerved in front of me. A woman had been "flashed" by a guy in a dark coat with a hood, and guess what I was wearing! They made me sit in the back of the squad car while they shined a flashlight in my face for the woman to see. She had no clue if I was the guy. I guess they figured my hooded coat wasn't enough to convict me on, so they let me go.
