Poll question: Should I go to my Dean meetup tonight?
7 people have RSVPed, so if the last one is any indication, four people will show up, and they'll all be at least 20 years older than me. It's at my favorite bar this time, so I can drink a beer while I'm MeetingUp if I like, but I'm thinking about giving it a miss and just staying home and watching movies.

1. It's polite
If you said that you'd be there, it is polite to attend unless you have something else that is urgent. You can stay at home and watch movies anytime. If it's at your favorite bar, that gives you another reason to go.

2. I say go if you can or not, SweetZombie! I want to go but my car's
windshield's schwipers chose today to break and the Dean Meetup is 40 miles away and, of course, there is Rain!

So I am staying home and reconnoiterring! Living to fight another day!

3. I say you should
SweetZombieJesus. I'm going to mine - with about the same kind of crowd predicted. We can be in different places, together. ;-)

4. Here's something I forgot to mention though
The host of the Meetup was a McCain supporter back in 2000, and he kind of grimaces whenever I say anything bad about Bush. I know I should be happy we've got a crossover guy, but he's just such a typical fucking yuppie I feel like I should be razzing him all the time. Just my inner punk trying to get out, I guess.

5. This guy probably needs your "inner punk coming out"!
People can change for the better .. they just have to have experiences to lead them in that direction!

If he's for Dean than he must have reasons not to be for bush!

This gets more interesting! :-)

6. Yes, GO!
Democracy isn't just something that happens by accident. You need people who are willing to work even when there are only 2 others with them. For if you keep plugging away, eventually your enthusiam will be contagious and others won't be able to resist joining you.

And this message isn't just for us Deanies, it's for all you Clark / Kuchinich / Gebhardt / Kerry / whomever supporters, too! (sorry, that's all the names I could remember off the top of my head. I'll get better - promise!)

We may be small in numbers now, but the sooner ALL of us get on that Democratic bandwagon, and the more experience we gain now in the early stages, the more powerful we'll be in November '04!

(and YES I'm feeling a bit Pollyannish tonight, but I just received some great fucking news! so lah-di-freakin-dah! woooohoooo!)

8. Thanks, zidzi!
I'm just in such a great freaking mood right now that I'm ooooozing positive energy all over the place. (a *decided* change of pace for me!) Don't worry - tomorrow I'll be back to my usual crabby cynical self.

But for today .... :7 :7 :7 :7

9. Might be your only chance to see someone who could be
president. Always worth the effort.

10. Dean Meetup
Yes, you better go and you better call and tell me all about it. This is your mother telling you what to do again. Or trying to tell you what to do anyway.

11. LOL!
You should hook up with Raven (WillPitt's mom) and you can tag team on your sons.

Nice to see you here! :hi:
