ever get tired of politics?
this happened to me today, for the first time, ever.

i had to wake up at 7 to go to my 8:30 american presidency class, where we debated labor unionism for 50 minutes.

after that i went to sit and just hang out for 2 hours, we ended up talking about nothing but politics the whole time.

my 11:30 american foreign policy class turned into just another big political debate.

my 1:00 french politics was just straight facts.

i went to work at 2:30 and watched battleship potemkin, and shot the shit about politics till 6.

came home and watched the news, and of course started my daily shouting match with the TV.

went to my local democratic club meeting at 7, just got home a little bit ago, and am on DU now.

i have an amnesty international meeting tomorrow.

i'm burned out. that's why i'm in the lounge.

2. I was apolitical for years
it's only since the Bush junta seized the WH that I've become more active. Frankly, I don't care much for politics, but I really don't care for the creeps in DC these days. :grr:

3. Yeah, I'm sick of it.
I can't wait for this current national crisis in leadership to pass so I can get on with my life, free from certainty that the country's going down the toilet.

4. I never tire of debate...
there is just so much to cover.

National politics has become mostly spin, but local politics is still kick-butt. I try to make it to every political thing in town, and usually, I hear some pretty good stuff. There are a lot of good ideas out there, but many get lost in the hub-bub of idiocy.

Then again, I'm a political junkie, and my blood riles too easily; can't seem to get enough of the stuff.

6. Sometimes
When it happens, I usually pull back for a week or two, and then I'm ready to jump back in...only to find the same old bullshit. It's like I never left! :eyes:

7. We talked of it at the table as I grew up
It was sort of in back ground the years I had young children but I still liked it. My second study in college was on social things. Tou know Marx and all the great thinkers on that stuff. It is this love of history and how people live that is of interest to me.

10. Yes, and I have to take a break every once in awhile...
I turn off the tv, take a walk, pet my dog. It's easy to get BFEE overload. I have to clear my head, then I'm ready for round two.
