1. Of the ones listed, it came to a tie, really, among
"Under The Boardwalk," "Up On The Roof," and "Saturday Night At The Movies" - and te others are vying for second place.

I chose "Up On The Roof" because, at a couple of remote places in which I've worked one way or another, I used to climb on to a roof at sunset or during the evening and Get Away From It All. I think I need to start doing it again. It really was just like the song says, though I never had a 'darling' with me.

2. A tie
Edited on Wed Sep-03-03 10:39 PM by radiclib
between "Come On Over to My Place" and "At the Club".

1965. The last good year.

Remember? Reagan was still being laughed at.

3. "Under the Boardwalk" was an exotic, forbidden place
When I was fourteen or so, my father would sometimes take me down to Rockaway on hot summer evenings, and we'd walk along the boardwalk, and I'd hear snatches of sound from underneath the boardwalk where the wild, dangerous kids were singing dirty songs. And I'd wonder what was going on down there . . . but I never found out.

It was a couple of years later that the song came along, but from the first time I heard it I knew it was about all those strange, hidden mysteries I'd never been free to explore.

5. It's really a tie between
UP ON THE ROOF (my ultimate comfort song and besides I go up on the roof and look over Orange County everyday)

and Under the Boardwalk because it's kind of like the hood of my car :D
