My Neighbour's Hummer H2...
Just saw my neighbour pull in with a new H2. Thankfully (according to him) it's the only vehicle he could get at Budget Rental which was big enough to pull his boat to drydoc, so it's not a permanent addition to the family.

My observation: the Hummer H2 looks like a lacquered harpsichord on wheels.

What an eyesore! If it stays, we're moving!

1. I drove by a yellow H2 today
Made me wonder... if I got a bumper sticker that said "YOUR HUMMER SUCKS," how many days before my windshield got bashed in?

Hummers are for SQUARES, baby!

2. Saw one in my office bldg's parking garage today
What a monstrosity. All I could say was, "Oh. My. God." It was all I could do to refrain -- not from giving it a "key job" -- but from ramming my 14-year old P.O.S. into it at full throttle.

:puke:

16. Re off-road prowess...
Who said "A hammer's only as straight as the person swinging it"?

12. What kind of boat does he have? A "Tribal" Class Destroyer?
What a bunch of bull! Budget could have rented him a GMC "Topkick" 12,000GVWR with a trailer hitch on it, but of COURSE it wouldn't look as "cool" as the H-2....Funny how you can rationalize ANYTHING...

Oh, this is a "Tribal" class destroyer of the RCN.

Pretty much every pickup on the Island is rented--I tried last weekend.

edit:

our converstion:

me: Hey, nice ride!

him: I feel like a tool. (even funnier because he's around 80).

...until Monday?"
"Uh, we got the Yacht Club Commodore's Dinner to go to, right?"
"Yeah?"
"Well, we couldn't very well drive your old Corolla, could we? Gotta keep up appearences..."

14. If he needs to pull his boat and it's the biggest rental, he's excused IMO
It's those idiots who spend all their time in the city who have no need for one of those behemoths who piss me off.

21. yup! agreed
it's the fantasy--off road vehicles that never go off road. People who own them
probably fantacize about being ourdoorsy, Malboro guys/gals bumping along in response to the call of the wildetc.

As for the Hummers, all they need is to mount a couple of machine guns on them. For people who actually own them I often wonder why not just buy an Abrams tank?
