How do I slyly let my co-workers know I'm ultra-liberal?
Most of my co-workers are moderate Dems and a handful of pukes, the latter of which feel the need to let everybody know which way they lean politically. (And the "ultra liberal" magazine is pronounced "Sss-all-on", not "say-lone", too...)

They may or may not have guessed I'm an ultra liberal (and fuckin' proud of it!)

Of course, I feel the need to out myself, which would be more difficult despite the obvous signs: Great use of color, and more tellingly the pinky ring! :D

5. Politics, like religion is something best broached very hesitantly in
the office.

I have a Dean flyer up on the wall in my office and did crack a joke with a Republican friend about the Al Franken book, but for the most part I keep pretty quiet unless I know the people I'm talking to approve.

The most beautiful thing that happened to me was during a client meeting (in March of this year). I had my four most influencial clients in my office and we were just breaking up the meeting and I was escorting them down the elevator when one of them said,

I'm really depressed about this war with Iraq thing -

Wow - all these women were talking about how they hated Bush and all. Me being the (non-union) contractor I think they felt I might be a Republican or something. We were bitching the * till the corporate van came to take them back to D.C. The street people were amazed at the * - bashing and asked me who they worked for!!! I said, the Federal Government.

I bonded that day with my clients, but it's not worth the risk unless they bring it up first. There are many other ways to use your political energy.

8. You know, I saw a post by you the other day
That was not written in all caps, was almost entirely free of profanity, and was eloquently written.

I thought to myself:

Needless to say, I was quite confused.

11. A mellow response
I work at a cancer treatment center. We see our patients and their families every single day for approximately six weeks. I come to love most of them, but found it difficult to respond to their support of B***. I discovered that if I gently said, "Well, we certainly see that very differently," I could maintain my sense of integrity. Some dropped the subject, but (best of all) some began a dialogue. We shared points of view and furthered a respect for each other.
"We sure see that differently"...good answer.

19. Welcoome to DU
Welcome to DU!

How very cool... I worked at a cancer treatment for five years (90-95) when I was trying to put myself through college. great co-workers and the patients I spent time with were the best buncha people I could have ever hoped to meet.

I think i received more of an education from the patients than I did in my classes....lol.

Anyway, from one who's pretty new to this forum also: again, welcome!

The return of the Liberals. Now wouldn't that make a statement if a day was scheduled for all Liberals to come out of the closet at the same time?

...every day at 9:00am sharp.

Use "Freedom of Religion" legislation to protect you from inevitable protest.
