It's almost like having a remote control for the tv in my hand, but I haven't watched tv for months and months and years now.

1. I usually have the news channels on, MSNBC or CNN on when I

am in the kitchen or relaxing at night. I used to turn on The Food Network, but I just have to know what is going on with the world, slanted as this coverage is.:shrug:

60 Minutes is still excellent. I do sometimes watch sitcoms, Everyone Loves Raymond on CBS Mondays and Frasier on NBC Tuesdays. I used to write about television and definitely recommend these two shows. These are sitcoms; I agree that reality shows are pointless.:-)

2. I like only a very limited amount of programming

I like to watch Smallville every week, because that show's take on the Superman myth is pretty cool, although it pisses me off that every character in the show seems to be very well-off. They're high school kids! They don't all need goddamn convertibles!

I also like a couple of shows on Comedy Central. South Park is the ultimate in satire, and the new Reno-911 takes shows like Cops and makes them look as ridiculous as they really are.

There are new Ren & Stimpy shows coming out now on Spike (formerly TNN), and the original 52 episodes have been digitally remastered. Again, the show is great satire and just plain trippy to watch.

Other than that I have been known to sometimes watch the Weather Channel, the Food Network or maybe the Game Show Channel, although not much. I get my news here, and I watch maybe a total of 5 hours of TV a week at the most.

3. I find myself tuning into C-Span and C-Span2 more and more

as I have become more interested in politics. The first two Democratic Candidates Forums were broadcast on C-Span; last week's was on PBS. I can't imagine how you can choose a candidate without seeing them and hearing what they have to say.:shrug:

I also like The Daily Show on Comedy Central Mon.-Thurs. 11-11:30 PM ET. There is often political humor and Gephardt, Kucinich and Edwards have made guest appearances, thus far.:-)
