Movies which were not good, but had GREAT soundtracks?
"Star Trek Generations" - it had potential to be a GREAT Trek movie, but blew it (due to a sloppy/rushed plot.) The direction was pretty good as well (David Carson's directions of his TV episodes were brilliant and those were better scripts...) But the soundtrack is top notch.

What are your nominations?

9. YAY!
Everyone I know pretty much agrees on your "The Big Chill", as do I; however, I am so tired of people not 'getting' the reactionary theme of "Forrest Gump" but I so agree with you on its wonderful soundtrack!

You did leave out the part about Jennifer Connelly topless. ;)

17. Actually, it was directed by Dennis Hopper
But it starred Don Johnson. A pretty decent b-movie, actually. (But then I'm a Jennifer Connelly fan...)

6. M*A*S*H*
No it was a good movie but I just wanted to point out that for the first half of that movie there is NO music. Nothing. The director(Robert Altman?) didn't want to set the scene he just wanted it to be a stark dark look at war.

For it's time it showed the "injuries" of war in a way many had no seen them. Really there is only one song from that movie that I can remember "Suicide is painless" an odd title for a really successful theme song on network TV.

22. Yes!
I just saw John Cafferty last month, and he still puts on a great show. I'm hoping to get 4 or 5 live shows in the mail soon.

14. Conan the Barbarian
Basil Poledouris' score is brilliant. (Actuall, the movie's not half-bad. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall when John Milius and Oliver Stone were writing that puppy. I'm sure the room was oozing alpha-male testosterone.)
