10. You're absolutely right! It is "the most beautiful pop song ever written".
You know, the weird thing? I always remember it in my head as having this beautiful, lush production. Then I will hear the recording and am ALWAYS shocked at how tinny, thin and cheap the actual production is. Shel Talmy was a pretty horrible producer, but he could not ruin this beautiful song.

13. Yeah. The guitar is all treble.
It just goes to show, a good song is a good song, production aside. (e.g. you can't make a purse out of a sow's ear.)

Although, I must say, I couldn't imagine it any other way. It's quite endearing.

rainy day in june,rosy won`t you please come home,and every song on celluloid heroes-the lp. and the band "the sound track of our lives" sounds alot like the kinks

The Kinks (on their "Come Dancing" tour in 1982) with The Romantics! My 13th birthday present from my dad--that and an electric guitar.
