4. Not my favorite, as I've never even heard it, but when I went to the
Vietnam Memorial, somebody had left a copy of the single of Little Latin Lupe Lu by Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels. So I think I can say confidently that it was the favorite song of somebody important. I've never forgotten; this was pretty shortly after the wall was erected.

loved all that early Mitch stuff. Ever hear his cover, about 87 or so of Prince's When you were mine? fantastic.

7. Actually, Mitch's Prince cover is from 1983.

It was produced by John Mellencamp and even made the Hot 100 (peaking at #87), giving Ryder his first chart single since 1968!
