Dean Atheist Christian Nader Kerry Clark Thread!!!
Rules:

#1: Don't bash MY candidate. I, however, CAN bash yours!

#2. Disagreeing with the positions of MY candidate rationally and calmly DOES constitute bashing, and I will post a separate whiny rebuttal thread and call you out! I will also accuse you of boosting Dean or Kerry, depending on who you are.

#3: These rules also apply to Clark supporters, even though he is only a Fantasy Island candidate.

#4: It is really Nader's fault, because Clinton's penis is off in Baghdad cutting off the water supply.

#5. (The only serious rule here) PLEASE bash Bush relentlessly. Keep exposing the lies. Remember that in spite of the acrimony, this is INDISPUTABLY where we all agree, no holds barred.

#6. What is exactly is a "hold", and why do they get "barred"?

1. What if you don't have a candidate?
I didn't see any rules for that one.

32. Look. I -- I'd had a lovely supper, and all I said to my wife was...
'That piece of halibut was good enough for Jehovah.'

7. "no holds barred" means, in the context of a

wrestling match, that no wrestling holds are barred (forbidden.) Presumably, in other matches some holds are barred.

All I really know about wrestling is that the first year I taught high school, when I heard an announcements for "tryout for wrestling cheerleaders" I started laughing.

Who knew wrestling cheerleaders had become an actual sport ?

14. Glad to see someone else finds it as funny as I did!

The kids were looking at me like I was nuts but WRESTLING CHEERLEADERS???

The cheerleaders actually sit on the floor beside the wrestling mats and lead cheers while seated!

Being a wrestling cheerleader is not considered as cool as being a football or basketball cheerleader.

But, as the wrestlers' tee shirts say, "It Is Better to Have Wrestled and Lost, Than To Have Played Basketball."

17. So? Nader's not a Christian, either.

BTW, how did Dean end up being a Congregationalist? I read that he was born Catholic so presumably his parents are Catholic. His wife's Jewish. So why Congregationalist?

No one said he was an atheist. The thread title is a run-on to create a parody. Perhaps it is a lack of irony in your diet, but straight answers in this thread should be ignored.

I know what you were trying to create, but I thought you were serious about the Dean=atheist, Nader=christian part. And if there were people who thought Dean was an atheist, maybe now they know he isn't. Sorry.

25. as if an atheist would have a chance
This country will never elect a declared atheist president, so any accusations about ANY of the candidates being atheist just CANNOT be taken seriously. You are probably the ONLY one who saw my title and thought it linked Dean with atheism, lol.

IT IS A RUN-ON OF "HOT" GD BUZZWORDS WHICH CREATE FLAMEWARS. IT WAS COMPLETELY RANDOM.

Fuck! Now I know why some people accuse the Deanies of being a tad oversensitive!!! Hence the point of my satire.

Bet it would have made you happy of I RANDOMLY put Kerry's name next to the word atheist. :eyes:

btw I have no idea what a Congregationalist is. I also find it odd we have only had one catholic president and the diverse we get in our presidents ancestry is Germany. Just a honest reflection.

20. A congregationalist
Edited on Mon Sep-08-03 03:04 AM by VermontDem2004
We are Christians who deeply believe that our church must be self-governing. We church members are the church government, and collectively we determine how our church shall be organized, always conscious of our covenant with Christ. Our participation in councils or associations is always voluntary. The word "congregational" refers to the type of self-government within the church.

As Congregationalists, we believe that our relationship with God is one that is deeply personal and private. We do not adhere to any creed, and we come from a myriad of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. We are free to pray and commune with God as we each see fit. No one tells us how to pray, or how to worship, however - our belief system is deeply rooted and built upon Biblical tradition and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

I've never heard of that faith before. Sounds interesting though. I agree with the private religion part, I do the same as a Catholic.

They have been deeply involved in the Anti-war movement and and other Peace and Justice issues. I just could not say enough good things about them. I am a weird Baptist.
