I'm in so much pain. Toothache and migraine at the same time.

I've taken some good pain med, so that helped, but I was so miserable earlier that I called my husband and he came home. I just woke up from a long, lortab induced nap. I'm so glad I went to the denits yesterday, or I wouldn't have had the lortab, and because I scheduled the procedure that will hopefully take care of this.

I'm so sorry - I get migraines too and they are just the worst. Have you ever tried putting a warm compress on your head? I find that helps sometimes.

5. Yes, that does help.

But, sometimes they're so bad that nothing helps. My dental problems probably aren't helping. Fortunately, I don't get them as often as some sufferers. But, man, they are the pits.

3. clove oil

if it's accessible, numbs the nerve endings around a tooth. Just sucking on a clove can help also. Lukewarm salt water rinses help as well.

As for the migraines, the only thing I've ever heard of that has worked long term, is cranial sacral therapy.

Have personal experience with the tooth problems though, and know that clove and salt give some great, though short term relief.

4. I've heard about the clove oil

We went through a toothache crisis earlier with my husband, and I asked the knowledgable people at DU about this and someone (it may have been you) suggested this. But, I had trouble finding it. Thanks :)

I'm calling it a toothache, because it feels like my tooth is hurting, but it is actually early stage periodontis around my upper back teeth. I went to the dentist thinking a filling had fallen out, but the tooth is fine. I had no idea there was anything wrong with my gums. I had no symptoms until the "toothache".

7. you have to go to a health food store for it

Otherwise just go to the spice department of a conventional grocery store and you'll find cloves. Wedge one in your mouth close to the place of inflamation. Until you get professional assistance, it'll numb the pain but not eliminate the problem. Will give you some relief though. That and the salt water should carry you over till you get some professional help.

on edit-watch out for some dentists though. I went through a host of them who gave me dire prognoses and wanted to extract all of my teeth in exchange for pricey implants. Thanks to a some really wise and kind practitioners and vigilant application of herbal products I saved all but a couple of them. PM me if you want more info.
