A Zone Alarm/Kazaa question

When opening Kazaa, Zone Alarm seeks permission, first, to have Kazaa act as a server and, second, to allow Kazaa to access the Internet. Does permitting either or both of these actions have an effect on whether my ISP can identify me as a Kazaa user?

Check the box that says block bad IP ranges. I *think* when you install it, it'll ask you the first time you run it, but I can't remember (it's been a while since I installed it).

While you're at it, you should check the box that prevents people from browsing your files...a handful of people might cut you off thinking you might be leeching but since nearly everybody has that option on now it's not really a problem. And your files still show up in search lists, so you can still share.

No matter how legit the file, there's a TON of bugs roaming around the P2P networks. Most are relatively harmless, but...

11. oh god yes....

we got a SHITLOAD of viruses about a year ago from Kazaa Lite....really fucked up our computer.

We had McAfee virus scanner at the time, but got Norton Anti-Virus AND ZOne Alarm and boy oh boy---the computer has never run smoother, no annoying pop-ups, and most importantly, no shitty viruses....

Zone Alarm is free---go to www.downloads.com and type in Zone Alarm...you can upgrade to ZA Pro for $30, but free ZA works just fine for me.

We got Norton AV for $50 at Office Depot, and it had a $30 mail in rebate....not bad not bad....
