Anyone here use Propecia? I'm thinking about giving it a try...

1. I have been using it for a 3 years

It works on the crown but has no effect on the rest. I thought it would stop continued hair loss on the forward scalp areas but it did not. I did regrow hair on the crown.

I have had much lower semen production since I started taking it, but I am not sure if that is due to the Propecia or my age (50).

that's propecia which will lower your testosterone.

Rogaine is sticky and is a bitch to put on. Skin irritation is another one. I, for one, am worried about long term effects that dont show up for years.

its a prostate drug with the same chemical as propecia. costs 1/5 the price. get it in international pharmacies.

5. I used Rogaine too

in conjunction with Prepecia, and I used it before I started Propecia. It had no effect, and I hated it because it made my hair greasy and limp.

I feel for you. I really do, but don't waste your money fighting mother Nature. There's a guy I work with who, for the past few years, has tried EVERYTHING. Rogaine, Propecia, comb-overs (ugh), hair transplants (double ugh), and nothing really worked the way he wanted them to. Last month he gave in and shaved his head completely, and I have to say (in my own hetero way) that he looks fantastic! The women in the office are going ga-ga over his head too. I'm not losing any hair (yet. we'll see...), but if I do, I'm shaving it all off. I hope my head isn't lopsided.

Seriously, I don't miss my hair. Depending on the shape of your head and your face, you might look just as good without it. On the other hand, if you have a square head, better get some propecia :)
