Computer question (shaking screen)
From time to time my computer screen rattles and shakes a little. Usually if I restart the computer the problem goes away for awhile, but I am wondering why this happens and if it is something to be concerned about--I need this computer to last another 4 or 5 months.

1. Your monitor is about to go kaput...
but you can get replacement monitors on ebay for cheap.

My monitor did exactly what you describe, and it lasted about two weeks after the glitches began, and then went out.

2. If you have a microwave or your speakers next to your
monitor then move them.

4. It sounds like your monitor to me.
it may be your video card. The fact that it is itermittent would seem to suggest these over software.

any electro-magnetic interference could be the cause -- nearby fans are often the culprit.

www.pricewatch has many monitors you can buy for replacement. I saw a 19' .22 for under $200. they have cheaper ones including refurbished as well.

www.pricewathc.com is a great site as many companies post pretty damn good offers there, and they are sorted by price.

5. Merkortech is always good for a look when monitor shopping

Stock varies so look often.

I bought a used 21" Sony G500 from them for $400 with shipping and I love it.

6. Do you ever have a small appliance running near your monitor?
I keep a small fan in my office. If I plug it into the same power strip as my monitor the interference shakes the display. The same thing happens if I get the fan too close.
