Might have another new DU'r

Just had a UPS guy come to the door to deliver a package, he saw my DU bumpersticker (which I placed on my computer room window that is it right next to my front door). He asked me if it is a real website, we started talking and I told what a great site it is, how much valuable info is here, how many people from all over the world post here and how many hours a day I spend here (I am here a lot, even though I don't post that much). He said he would be sure to check it out, that he needed more info on the political world and, check this out, he said the ways things are right now, it is like we are a country without a brain!! My husband and I both agreed, I added that we certainly are a country without leadership and that he really must check out this great website. So, how about that! The bumpersticker isn't even on my car but already, we have a potential new member.

That's great!!! I was out on a farm in Muncie, Indiana a few weeks ago and someone asked me about DU from the sticker!!!

I converted a coworker recently who voted for Bush. Well, that's an overstatement. He was leaning that way (our way) anyway, and the articles on certain issues I was able to forward to him were the straws that broke that particular camel's back. And I am probably giving myself too much credit, anyway. He's a smart guy who can read the writing on the wall without my help.

Bottom line, though: He was a Bush fan when I met him and now he's not.

I may or may not have helped him along.

But I like to think I make a difference, so there you have it.

On edit: The most important thing. All the articles I gave my friend came from DU originally. He's now a fan of Boudelang and the Top Ten Conservative Idiots.

Sometimes all people need is someone else to validate what they already know and feel - it helps them know they are not alone out there in the blind faith world we live it.

We've talked a lot recently. He even gave me a site that "determined" where a person stands politally. You've seen sites like this. Turns out he's a liberal libertarian, just like the site says I am. Whatever that means.

But, like I said, he was reading the writing on the wall anyway, and it's not like there's a shortage of Democrats in this area. Although many of them are conservatives. It's a weird area in that way.

7. re your bottom line

don't ya' just love it when that happens. I bet it happens more often than we know, too. I think a lot of people are just not willing to let on that they ever were a stump fan to begin with much less admit that they made a big mistake by being a fan. I bet you did help him along. Keep up the good work, we are on the way to taking our country back!

4. When I first put my

sticker on my truck I noticed people pulling up close and writing. It kinda creeped me out at first, this is repub country, but now I just hope to see them here someday.

8. DU should have business cards we can buy and hand out.....

maybe with our "names" on them and the weblink.

Maybe some thoughtful quotes or a list of the forums, etc....
