I have a job interview!!!!!

Over the last two weeks, I have sent out 4 resumes, 3 to the state, and one to a private employer. I heard a little bit ago from one of the state agencies. I am going for an interview on Tuesday afternoon.

The recruiter to whom I actually sent the resume for the private sector employer is trying to get a date and time for an interview there, too. They have already said they want to talk with me, just haven't given her a time yet.

Maybe now that summer is over the job hunt will get on track.

You'd think there would be more of a need for Workers' Compensation adjusters, but I guess you have to have a job before you can get hurt at work. Maybe after January 20, 2005 President Kerry will start to take care of that.

4. From what I saw with my brother...

who sustained a horrible tampenade injury of his foot, when something fell on it at work, Workmen's Comp is one of the most, if not THE most broken systems in the US. It has become entirely adversarial. Even with a lawyer working on it, he became homeless, living on the street, limping around, drunk and in a daze, while WC diddled with their piddles, in the hope he would just go away.

I hope those fuckers burn in hell.

What was the insurer's reason for denying the claim?

Here in Massachusetts we have one of the most liberal WC systems in the country. It does, as it should, give a slight benefit of the doubt to the employee, rather than the employer. The injured worker, of course has the burden to prove the injury and the work relationship of the injury, but after that it is pretty difficult to stop his/her benefits.
