Can't Contain Myself...Cubs announce plans for playoff ticket sale
Edited on Wed Sep-10-03 01:01 PM by HereSince1628
I know, I know. But this may be as far as it goes so let me roll in it for a minute...checking out this link...it didn't go away when I pinched myself.

"Cubs playoff tickets on sale Sunday
CHICAGO -- It's the words Cubs fans have waited years to hear: playoff tickets will go on sale Sunday at 8 a.m.

OK, so we might be getting ahead of ourselves a little bit. The first-place Cubs are locked in a tight three-way race for the NL Central Division title with the Astros and Cardinals. But the Cubs ticket offices need to prepare now for possible postseason dates."

Edited on Wed Sep-10-03 01:09 PM by dymaxia
Actually, looking at your schedule, it seems not so remote a possibility.

I am excited, because then we can whoop your ass in the World Series!

Hell just might freeze over this year.

Go SOX! :)

8. I hate the Cubs

As a good, native South-sider, I can never, NEVER, root for the Cubs. To me it would be like voting for Dumbya. (Yes, it is irrational, but we are all scarred in our youth). However, since the WhiteSox are doing magnificently, I can be magnanimous (i.e., showing nobility of feeling and generosity of mind) towards them. Actually, the only reason I hope the Cubs are successful (boy that was hard) is because I would love to see a true subway (El?) series, and it would give my beloved Sox an opportunity to SHAFT THE CUBS!!!!!

9. If you're a native Sout' Sider, what's with the wine glass avatar?
Hmmm?

Everyone knows that wine and cheese and quiche and the like are for Nort' Siders.

Sout' Siders are more inclined to drink beer from a can. And if they did drink wine, it would more than likely be straight from the box they bought it in.

Before you flame me, I must let it be known, that I'm a native Sout' Sider as well. It's just that American League brand of baseball turns me off. So that's why I'm a Cubs fan. That & I did live on the Nort' Sider for quite a few years.

10. Sox fans...snort.....
we had more cub fans up in Milwaukee than you could muster for a home weekend game...talk about your fair weather fans. When did you stop talking about firing Jerry? a few weeks after the all-star break?

11. Cub fans, Cheeseheads, all the same...
Or as the card I carried for years said:

I would rather have a sister in a whorehouse than a brother who's a Cub fan.

(With apologies to all sex-workers.)

13. It would make for a VERY chilly
Thanksgiving. I'd also have to question where my mother was 9 months before her birth...

4. I'm a Yankee fan, but . . .
I don't think they have the guns to go all the way this year . . . if they don't, my dream series is the Sox v. the Cubbies . . . no matter who wins, someone's fans will be able to die happy . . . :)

7. As a Cubs fan I would die happy if the
Cubbies just made it to the World Series. The last time my beloved Cubbies went to the World Series was 1945 and let's not talk about the last time they won!

Suffice to say that my grandpa was born in 1910 and died in 1997 and he never saw the Cubs WIN the world series....

Cubbies, win one for my grandpa!!!!

14. Where's the goat?
Or as A Whitney Brown said the last time the possibility came up, When the small bears from the windy place take the flag, then the end is nigh. (paraphrase of him spoofing the Bible)
