Lucy Lawless Joins Tarzan

Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess) is joining the cast of The WB's upcoming Tarzan series in the crucial but only recently added part of Tarzan's aunt, Zap2it reported. The New Zealand actress will play Kathleen Clayton, a publishing magnate and younger sister of Mitch Pileggi's Richard Clayton, the acting head of Greystoke Industries, the trade paper reported.

I, of course, appreciated Xena as an empowered heroine--a feminist icon, as it were. The scenic wonders of New Zealand were also noteworthy:

* Beautiful Kevin Smith, (Ares God of War) who died far too soon.

* Karl Urban (Julius Caesar/Cupid) last seen as Eomer of the Rohirrim.
