6. European license plates can be really fun!

In Germany, they take the first two letter of wherever the car was registered, and follow it with two random letters. So I once saw a car registered in Fulda, with the license plate reading "F u C K"

7. Somehow I just don't think I could get away with this

down here in Alabama.
Afew years ago I got a "TWA" license plate. I was a pilot there for 30+ years.
When I requested it, the clerk had to call HQ, in Montgomery.
She forwarded the request, listened for a minute, then fixed me with a highly suspicious steely glare and asked
"Does that stand for somethin'?"
"Yes, Trans World Airlines."
"Did you usta work for them?"
(My god lady, do I look that old already?)
"I do now."
"Oh...OK."
