Need some e-mail help.
Checking my home account e-mail at my work desk. Accidentally clicked and opened a spam e-mail before I realized my mistake. Didn't open any attachments, and deleted it immediately. Am now running Norton AntiVirus.

Can anyone tell me - am I safe?

1. If this isn't a trick question...
yes, you're safe.

5. So, I take it that just opening the email is probably okay
as long as I didn't open any attachments?

6. well....
not necessarily... sometimes viruses can be hidden in images, etc... I'm not sure what mail program you're using... the best bet it to not open any spam mail. However, if you have Norton running, which I think you said you do, you should set it to scan all incoming messages so that it can detect any viruses.

4. If you're part of a LAN or WAN.........
you should have no problem if your IT people keep things up to date. In fact if they were really on top of things you shouldn't have even received it on your work PC.
