On for 2 months and not a single offer after 3 price reductions!

Thanks to Dirty Shrub and his Repuke friends for making everyone afraid to buy a home!

After we have a new President you'll get your asking price, I'll bet.

3. I can't seem to sell my condo either
It's been on the market for five months. Houses are selling well, but not condos in this market. I've already lowered the price three times too. :(

5. Does your condo have a hefty monthly fee?
Condos are harder to sell because of that

6. Yes, and it also has a horrid association board
It's a nice building in kind of a creepy neighborhood, plus a light rail station will be built across the street from it. I have several things going against me, as you can see. :(

4. Really 2 months is not always enough time to sell a house.
My lovely house took 8 months in a market which wasn't that bad. You need to leave it on the market, and you don't have to come down in your price - it will eventually sell. This has happened twice to us in the last 10 years. There are other reasons why specific houses don't sell. We actually had to change the blue carpet both times. What about your location, condition? Did you do it through a realtor or by yourself? These are all important considerations.
And even though Chimpy tries to take credit for more people owning homes now, I don't think that it has anything to do with him either way. And even though we can blame him for a lot of things, I think the housing market goes on by itself, dependent mainly on if there is a lot of unemployment in the area, and more specific property conditions like I named, as well as interest rates, which have gone up but are still pretty damn low.
I say all this as a realtor. And while this is not always the best time of the year for home sales, you will have a lot less competition if your house is listed during the holidays. There's still people looking.
Good luck

8. Nothing in the neighborhood is selling ... there is a glut of homes!
Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 04:22 PM by The Sushi Bandit
too many on the market .... people are freaking out and drasticly reducing the prices... buyers see that and want to wait so thay can take advantage of lower prices.

too much indecision..

My agent agreed with our decision

9. i know nothing about real estate
but a few realator inside things fall is crappy spring is best
ad to this everyone is scared right now, this includes right ,left & center interest rates were super low savings rates are non existent the bubble hasn't busted and won't. Neo con priced houses are flying for absurd prices, that bubble breaks all the time...... give it a few weeks normal houses in normal places will take longer but retain thier crazy value.

10. I pushed myself almost to a complete breakdown to get our
house on the market at the end of May and we did sell within 3 weeks after a price reduction... we were 60 miles west of DC. I was a physical and emotional wreck by the time the house listed, but I did it because I was afraid of the very thing you're struggling with now. I'm sorry to hear it. 28 years ago when I was in grade school my parents and I were living in San Juan Capistrano and the market was horrible then, too. It took them about 18 months to sell. Hang in there. It will get better after the election jitters are over. Or, all the banks will crash because of shrubya's wonderful economic policies and you won't owe any on the house anyway. Anarchy! yay, what a way to wipe out debt!
