15. Let's not forget the CANADIAN Mars Bar!
From the Institute of Candy Controversies:

A recent visitor to Canada noticed that the flag-ship candy bar of Mars Incorporated, had a distinctly different packaging, (Figures 1 & 2 above). This was all but ignored until a sample of the Canadian version reveiled differences that were indeed more than "skin-deep."

The first obvious difference was the lack of almonds in the bar from North of the border. In fact, the U.S. Mars® Bars proudly proclaim "Chocolate Almond Bar." As for its Canadian Cousin, the "full-sized" 58 gram versions sport the label "Energy Bar," with the following tag-line: "A Mars® Bar a day at work, rest and play." (Repeated of course in French). Some, but not all of the Canadian bars also include the warning: "May Contain Traces of Peanuts."

Our bar's just as big; it's just a smaller image (bastard Americans!)

Poutine is a French-Canadian concoction comprising french fries, gravy, and cheese curds.

This wonderful mélange of taste-tempting treats originated in Québec, in the region of the Bas-St-Laurent or Gaspésie, caught on in Montréal, and quickly spread from there to other parts of Québec and as far as Ottawa. Since then, it has spread across Canada, and is even available at fast-food chains such as Burger King.

Ha ha haaaaa! Eat yer heart out, Yanqui Pendejo!!!!!!!!!!

24. You're even worse off.
American Smarties are half the worth of Canadian Smarties, which in turn are half as good as British Smarties.

Hershey's, the shittiest chocolate company in the history of mankind *you could call it the Bose of cocoa* probably has a hand in this somewhere.

30. Hey Americans, how do you like your coffee?
Edited on Wed Oct-20-04 02:51 PM by Minstrel Boy
In Canada, the correct answer is "crisp."

Man Loves His Coffee Crisp

TORONTO-- It has taken Edward Eden almost a lifetime, but he believes he has found his soulmate of chocolate bars--the Coffee Crisp. After years of candy-craving uncertainty and snack-related confusion, Edward thinks that he has found the right chocolate bar, the ideal candy confection that represents him the best.

"I can't believe it's taken me this long to find my match," said Edward, 39. "I spent the last ten years of my life as a Kit Kat man. I thought the bar was snappy, like me. It had four fingers of delicious chocolatey wafers--you didn't have to commit to the whole thing at once. It was a chocolate bar with class, yet carried a hint of smarm, that showed off my frivolous side."

Singlerolle ?
Pop-Up Eis?
Cookies?
:grr:

Stupid Marketing/Advertisement speech. I don't know who started the meme that using pseudo-English for product names is a good idea.

Anyway, now new products tend to get French names. All it took (besides Bush) was a slogan for the perfumery chain Douglas : "come in and find out".
That slogan was used by a research group with interesting results.
Particularly that the majority of those polled believed the slogan to mean "Come in and let's see if you can find the exit".

that would've been just stone cold. You wouldn't do anything like that to us poor, benighted Yanquis, now, would you? </sarcasm>

P.S. Yanquis are, in fact, trekking north of the border for pure, uncontaminated, available Canadian flu shots. Bush*'s response: "Well, as you know, those shots only protect against the Canadian flu." :-)
