This freeper pictures just gives me a great laugh everytime!!

It's almost been a year since that incredible rally in downtown DC. Over 40 members of DU and Bartcop joined our own group that weekend in DC and well over a million protestors across the world.

But someone posted about the Freeper rally this weekend and I keep remembering watching it on CSpan with Ramsey, RBNYC and Kheph (MO-RANS!). It was also a hoot watching Underpants, WillPitt, Matcom and DS1 trying to invade the Freeper Porta-a-Johns. That was the weekend we almost killed Mike Malloy (remember - antihistamines and scotch do not mix. Who gave Mike that big glass of scotch) and I almost killed GregW from too much Tequilla. Monica_L and I cried our eyes out while touring the Vietnam Memorial at night and all who came had a great time.

1. Great!
You know, if you use the same formula they use to figure out how many were at an anti-war rally on this pic, there would actually be a negative amount of people in attendance!

2. I would love to have been there!
Funny how their 'rally' got so much airtime...

this picture, though, is priceless.. I can see this in a Time Life photologue 10 years from now :-)

7. It WAS amazing
C-Span must have run the coverage of this feeb-fest about ten times that week...and I don't recall more than one showing of the antiwar rally that drew millions...

I still remember the speech by the blond goon who actually WAS foaming slightly at the mouth...willing to do ANYTHING to have a war with Iraq except actually sign up to fight. He kept raging about what swell signs they could have had if they'd wanted to....but never really mentioned what they'd say.

13. He was supposed to be the president
of some Young Republican group and was identified as such on screen....

I remember that much because I was amazed to discover when I checked the group's website that his name wasn't even mentioned, and that some other gump was identified as president at that time...

16. they showed the anti-war rallies
and the pro-war rally in sequence--one after the other. I remember actually turning back to C-Span to watch the FReeper 'rally'--it was too funny.

4. That was one of the most amazing weekends ever.
I also remember cracking up watching the freepers on CSPAN. It would be great to see everyone again. Maybe you'll all come to my birthday party!

10. And these fools call themselves a "majority"??
If the Freeps are rallying this weekend, I'll be sure to catch all 12 of them on C-SPAN. After the depressing way this day started, I'll need a good laugh

15. That was the weekend of Paul Wellstone
geez, I almost forgot about that one

I was half way between Baltimore and DC on the BW Parkway. I was the driver and RBNYC was my passinger. My cell phone rang and I saw WillPitt's name pop up on it. Since I was driving, I had Rene answer the phone and find out what Will wanted.

All I remember was Rene screaming in my cell phone "No, No, No, That's Awful, That's Horrible". I thought Will, Matcom and DS1 were in a wreck or something. Finally she told me that Paul Wellstone was killed in a plane wreck.
