I got my car broken into
Blah. They broke the back side window (the little one). They stole my CDs, some of which were over 10 years old (which is pretty old when you're 21). They didn't get my stereo for some reason and they didn't vandalize anything.

So it wasn't that bad as far as theft goes, but it was sort of one of those loss of innocence moments for me, because I've never been a victim of anything before personally. I grew up in the peaceful suburbs. Just sucks...

1. Yeah. Getting robbed isnt so much about the stuff...
but more about the violation of your person.

There's nothing worse than betrayal.

2. I empathize. Happened to me too, a long time ago,
lost many items of of little monetary value, but significant emotional value (souvenirs and photos from my years spent traipsing hither and yon about the planet).

3. That's an epidemic in Vancouver...
You can't leave anything in your car, anywhere.

They'll break in if they see $0.50 in your meter change tray.

Don't leave anything visible in future, and you'll probably be okay.

Sucks though!

4. Burn CD/R copies for the Car if the CDs are Rare
A lot of my favorites are out-of-print, so I burn copies for the car.
Never had any CDs stolen from the car, but a few have gotten scratched--
much better a 50 cent copy than a rare original.
