ALL TEXAS DEMS.....get out and vote AGAINST Prop.12
Although Texas has been in the process of lumping off-season voting issues together to save time/money, the GOP created an odd off day for the current vote AND did not do much advertising. They want to keep people away from the polls. (The other voting issues were added later to the ballot in order to make this seem more legitimate).

They have also lumped the much less popular tort reform issues in with the caps on malpractice issue so that it will end up capping ALL lawsuits.

It is also a way to hurt trial lawyer's pocketbooks. They are big Dem supporters generally and this is a way to get at that support group.

Heard enough? Get out the word and get out the NO vote!

BBV people....is there any way to monitor the electronic votes?

2. Yep
I'm voting tomorrow.

I talked to my mom, who was somewhat uninterested in voting for "just" a prop. election, until she saw Gov. Goodhair Perry on an ad saying to vote YES for prop. 12.

She immediately decided to go out and vote NO. If Perry endorses it you know it is a POS.

3. Bad day for an election
Another reason the election is Sept 13th instead of a "normal" election day...

Houston has city races coming up on the 'normal' election day.
Thus, having the Prop. elections on that day would mean an electorate that is higher % minority and Democratic.

Voila, election day on Sept. 13th. The pro-12ers want a low turnout made up of right-wingers.

4. I'll be there tomorrow, but
12 will likely pass. The Republicans who run this state like having elections on odd days, so that only white suburbanites do the voting. Also, there is a football game tomorrow between UT and Arkansas, which will keep the vote down in ol' liberal Austin.

Plenty of time to get that vote in before or after. (What am I saying? Sigh.)

Anyway, I am thankful that I won't have to hear those WRETCHED pro-Prop 12 commercials, including Dr. Red F***ING Duke. Talk about losing my respect. Fucking fearmonger. :grr:
