Michael Moore asks Wesley Clark to take the plunge!
Michael Moore, without actually endorsing Clark asks him to run because "Bush Must Go".

"I am asking everyone I know to send an email to you now to encourage you to run, even if they aren't sure they would vote for you. (Wesley Clark's email address is: info@leadershipforamerica.org). None of us truly know how we will vote five months from now or a year from now. But we do know that this race needs a jolt -- and Bush needs to know that there is one person he won't be able to Dukakisize."

"Take the plunge, General Clark. At the very least, the nation needs to hear what you know about what was really behind this invasion of Iraq and your fresh ideas of how we can live in a more peaceful world. Yes, your country needs you to perform one more act of brave service -- to help defeat an enemy from within, at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, an address that used to belong to "we, the people.""

1. I like ...hell, I love Clark
But Moore voted Nader. I don't look to Moore for advice on who should run.

I also LOVE Moore. Heck, I've pre-ordered his book.

3. Moore least repented for his Nader adventure. Moore has a
conscious. I admire Moore now more than ever. He knows that job one is getting rid of bushco.

5. When did Moore repent?
If he did it's news to me.

10. Uh, Carlos. While he may not have said, "I repent,"
all of his actions since prior to the selection and after show that he has repented. He called off his support for Nader prior to the selection. While he may not have said vote Democratic in 2002, he did say, vote against the Repubs. Now he is saying, consider the General. I call that repenting.

6. Right
But right now his endorsement may spell doom for some Democrats. I think Moore and Clark are AOK in my book...but other Democrats?

9. I think most Democrats don't even know Moore voted for Nader...
... most can't even name the candidates.

But lots have seen BfC and remember his Oscar appearance, so I'd say anything close to an endorsement from Moore helps Clark in the eyes of most Democrats... it also gives Coulter's KKKids something to rant senselessly about.

7. Impressive
Allow me to be a pompous ass for a moment (not that lack of permission ever stopped me before).

I've loved Michael Moore, and I've hated Michael Moore.

OK, "hated" is way too strong a word, but after accusing Al Gore of murdering a little girl, well, I wasn't too keen on him.

Anyway ...

In the last few years, Moore has really found his stride, and his letter to General Clark highlights it. With rough edges gone, the Big Picture in focus, and with a smug tyrant using the American flag as a hygienic device, Moore's dispatches have evolved from perverse-prissy anarcho-wiseass screeds into the powerful calls for justice and democracy that have been too rare in this country.

If he keeps on this track, I may try to persuade him to run for President himself.

Moore would probably say he hasn't changed a bit; maybe it's me who has changed. Or maybe it's both of us. But with our collective back to the wall, I'm encouraged by the shift in focus and the renewed sense of vigah among everbody involved in the fight to reclaim our democracy.

Now if we could just get the internecine pre-primary-election sniping under control ...
