I don't really like them...they are too huge for me. IF you eat it when it's hot, it will scald your mouth, and if you wait for it to cool, well it doesn't taste so good.

I don't like 'em. I prefer to cut my own potatoes into about 1/2" by 2" strips and fry them up in peanut oil. Now you want to talk about GOOD!

It sounds yummy. I miss Clinton too although I disagreed with him on a fair share but I grew up with the guy on TV(I am 16) and I really liked him. Sigh seems like forever he was in the white house.

14. I didn't vote for Clinton in our primary for 92

but I liked him once he got the nod, and think he did a decent job. I kinda liked that whole peace and prosperity thing. What I did enjoy was his speechifying. That man can talk. It was nice to see that early speech - he reled on notes there more than I recall him doing so later.

Harkin has been doing the Steak Fry a long time. He was doing it in the 80's when I left Iowa. Think he holds it on the family farm near Indianola, which is where they have a pretty nifty balloon festival every year. Fish Fries, Steak Fries - more a play on words, etc are pretty rampant in the Midwest - chance to socialize and raise money for a cause.

makes me proud of my Iowa heritage. In 1992 I was supporting Jery Brown at that point, if I recall correctly. Gov Moonbeam sounded a lot like your man Dennis today - to me, at that point at least. However, I voted in the Republican primary as I lived in Texas and wanted to add the totals against GHW Bush, an effort to let America know that Texas didn't consider him a Texan. Who I voted for is a mystery I can't recall, but I still remember the sting of seeing my voter registration stamped with a scarlet red repyblican.

Never heard the name. I like Harkin, I have a bit in common with him other than politics, he has coal miner blood which is cool because he probably admires John L Lewis and his mother comes from the same nation as my grandfather's parents. Thats very neat to me.

that marks him high in my book, but I always did like Harkin's politics. Jerry Brown is Gov Moonbeam - as the press not so affectionally dubbed him due to his California spiritual approach to politics. I know nothing about him these days, but he had a brief, strong showing in 1992 - enough for the media to attempt a full discreditation. It worked well, and I still hear Jerry Brown slams.

I wish I was as resilient as you are. Actually, I did wonder what they did to the steaks, myself, though I am not big on meat, like Dennis. I caught this, also, since they kept talking about it, but we never saw any food being served.:shrug:

I am glad that you saw this, since Kucinich was very good. What happened to Gephardt? I was looking for him, as well, and was disappointed. I thought Clinton was brilliant!:D
