"My" poor bird has been bullied!!!!!!!
:evilfrown: Found out there is a reason why my little one doesn't have a full crest and has been moved to a safer bin at the pet store. Some bully birds have been making life difficult for my little sweetie. :evilfrown: And to think he/she has been keeping such a sweet disposition through it all!!!

Good news though!!!!...I'm going to put a deposit down on "my" birdie in a few days. :) Yes, I'm going to get the birdie!! (unless somebody gets him/her in the meanwhile) :( Am not sure yet what sex it is, apparently it's a "fancy" and it's hard to tell? (???)

Slept on my arm again today. :loveya:

1. He/she will be much happier with you
Buster even gets freaked out by the wild birds who come to our feeders.

I saw an extremely disturbing movie in a Psych class in college on the behavior of birds, and how they threaten one another, eat each other's eggs, etc. It's a whole other society I just don't understand (not that I even understand OUR OWN society, but you know what I mean!).

2. I'm assuming you're talking about a cockatiel.

I used to be an aviculturist, but I never raised cockatiels. I do know, however, that males tend to be more aggressive, so there's a great likelihood yours is female. Also, males start whistling a lot when they hit 6-8 weeks old. Females only have a few standard squawks. If I could, I'd imitate the male cockatiel whistle for you. :) Ah, the limits of the internet. You might google it.

Also, male cockatiels tend to be much better talkers than females.

I could tell you more, but I raised African greys and Senegals. No cockatiels for me.

3. That's great that you're going to get the bird.
You sound like you really love him already, and it sounds like he's falling for you too! Poor thing getting bullied; birds will do that (as will other animals). I hope no one else puts down a deposit before you get a chance to.
