Wesley Clark supporters, please check in..
The link below is to set up a "Wes Wing" buddy list, in anticipation of General Clark's announcement this week. Ahhhhh.... :smoke:

I originally posted this in the Politics and Campaigns forum, but decided to repost it in the Lounge so that more people can see it.
This list will help us to pass news and events updates between each other. Please check in if you want to be added to the list.

And please keep this kicked for a few days. Tanks! :7

1. ...
I think, upon checking in, everyone should scream "Hooah!!!" to make us sound enthused.

7. Until Clark declares, I'm still a supporter of Dean, but
I'm incredibly excited about Clark. If he gets to the White House, as President or VP, I predict the Democrats will own the military vote for the forseeable future. I will enjoy Chimp & Co. trying to tear Clark down on defense and his past military service. They will only succeed in making themselves look foolish..oops!, I mean, more foolish. Please announce, General!

8. Just spent 3 1/2 hours
at a Draft Wesley Clark campaign table at the annual local street faire. This is a huge event, 10's of thousands of people come, and we had so many people sign up to get on board with Clark. Many were turned on by the Michael Moore letter, some were Dean supporters who said they'd switch if Clark ran. THere were a bunch of people who weren't excited about any of the other candidates. Some had never heard of him but were curious nonetheless. Some had seen him on TV and were impressed with his performances - the Maher show and MTP were the 2 most often mentioned.

THere were some Dean people who still seemed to be buying into the whole Dean PR about picking Wes for VP. We politely set them straight on that one but agreed that the goal was to get Bush out of Washington. It was such a positive response. We had one Republican stop by who said he thought Clark was ok but would vote for Bush because he thought he was doing a terrific job.

So we shall see!

9. I'm an Edwards guy
But I'm also a realist. John Edwards doesn't look like he's gonna do it. I like Clark and will support him if he jumps in. He looks like the most likely one to de-throne the Idiot-in-charge. Count me in.

12. Wesley Clark was not popular at the Pentagon
As a matter of fact he was forced out as a three-star general. Bill Clinton was furious, but apparantely, by the time he found out it was all over.

He wouldn't play nice with the others. They thought he was too political. And he wasn't willing to march in lockstep with the top brass.

I think he is an interesting candidate, but I wouldn't count on the military vote. He must have made a lot of enemies at the Pentagon. Of course, Bush is making a lot of enimies of the troops he has holding the bag in Iraq, so who knows?

24. oh why not?
I already consider myself a Graham supporter and a Dean supporter, so why not Clark as well.

;-)

The only candidates I wouldn't really consider myself a supporter of are Lieberman, Sharpton, and Kucinich. But even they are pretty good on an absolute scale.

:-)
