Looked better after I applied Neat Image 2.5 Pro to remove the graininess, oh how I hate grain... unless it's grain as in the grain you find in cereal, like Cheerios or something... or that malt-o-meal version, you get so much more of a virtually identical product for much less, without the stupid corporate sheenanigans. the malt-o-meal people don't need to advertise; people see the product is there and buy it. If noly more corporations were as thrifty...

You're looking at nothing less than a scanned section of a microwaved CD-R disc (silver/top, blue Azo/bottom), complete with color reflection and color augmentation via photoshop-esque software. :evilgrin:

My next goal is to (a) remove the light bulb in the microwave, set the camera on a tripod, and take pictures of a CD while it is being nuked. It's a gorgeous sight to see, capturing the flare on film (okay, 5 MP digital) should be worth the effort...
