My mom who lives in Illinois VOTED |
|
Yesterday I had posted that my mom, hearing on the corporate media that Kerry was projected to win Illinois' electoral votes, wasn't going to vote.
I about had heart failure after reading her e mail so I sent her a short primer on the electoral college and why it was important for her to vote anyway.
She tried to find her polling place this morning and was not successful. I called her and got the address and mapquested it for her. She took the map that I sent her via e mail and VOTED!
She thanked me for helping her and said that she felt good about VOTING!!! She said she ran into some people she knew. This is great! She's only been back in the midwest for five months so I am VERY HAPPY she voted. I think she feels more connected to the people who live around her after seeing them at the polls this afternoon.
MY MOM VOTED!!!!!!!
Yippeee!
