Does anyone else think this election was fixed?
I mean Dean had the momentum - Kerry was out of gas and then the media systematically destroyed Dean and brought Kerry into the fold. I didn't even like him - and all of a sudden he was a front runner?????

Then the way he just gave up - it feels dirty to me.

2. The fix
that I believe happened in the diebold machines. No way higher turnout benefits Bush, especially in highly democratic counties.

11. I agree with you!
I hate Diebold.. and their stock went up right before the elections too! That's a sure sign, IMHO.

7. In Florida, definitely.
In Ohio... possibly...

John Kerry may concede defeat, but I sure as hell want those votes counted and investigated. And then I want something done.

9. No I don't think it was fixed in that regard
Karl Rove simply played the old Nixonian southern strategy script with Gays acting the part of African Americans.

The only explanation is the machines.

18. I think the left got kicked in the teeth on the gay marriage ban
what a fucking crock of cold shit. Let's make sure the gays can't marry and make doubly sure I get to keep my gun! <heavy sarcasm> Fuckers. We have a 60% divorce rate in this country now - but, if we let gays join us in all of this, it will undermine "natural marriages." Fuck the right wing neo-cons and fuck all the church going people who bash gays, but have all of their grandchildren born out of wedlock! I'm a little bit pissed right now, in case you hadn't noticed. I usually apologize for my rants, but not this time.

I still love ya though, S.

up so quickly, I sincerely do not believe that he intended to lose. It's the electronic voting that got us in the end. They couldn't get away with as much disenfranchisement as they did in 2000 because we were prepared this time and positioned lawyers and poll-watchers and volunteers in the most likely-to-be-abused polling sites. Unfortunately, no one was EVER able to get it through to anyone that we needed a paper trail, a method to recount. Now we are lost. And now that aspect alone must be challenged and resolved before the next election, or we lose again.

All in all, I think that Kerry is a good man. I trust and hope that he will continue to serve us honorably as a senator.

24. I think it is possible.
Watching some of the Kerry history shows - it looked like being president could have been a long term goal.

But I couldn't help but notice - how sincere and driven he came across in his younger days. He used to be so eloquent - almost like Lincoln or something.

I didn't feel like he still cared as much.
