I've never liked her, and saying that as a gay man is really sacrilege.

Come on, she can't sing, she can't act, and now we're supposed to believe she can write!?!

Seriously, there are many talented writers out there who can't get published (I include myself) and yet people who can't write--just because they're celebrities, can put out anything. And the publishing houses use most of their budgets to promote those ad nauseum. This is a sorry time for literature.

1. Ex-squeeze me?
She's had some good songs.

I won't deny she can't act, though.

I like Madonna -- always have.

If she want to write a children's book -- why not

3. Intervention?
For every Madonna who writes a children's book, about one hundred talented, strughgling writers won't get published becayuse the publishing houses spend their budgets on the Madonna books.

The publishing industry is set up like movie studios these days--celebrity sells. Her book is probably not even a story, but a concept.

Some of her songs are good, but it's not because of the singing. Tells you something when you realize she has NEVER sung live.

5. True. It's like Jennifer Lopez- er... excuse me... "J-LO", deciding
she needs to enter music as well. God knows I haven't seen enough of her face today.

I honestly can't stand that cross-over stuff. It's usually guranteed mediocrity, whether it's Michael Jordan playing baseball, or Jennifer Lopez singing brain dead pop music, or Madonna writing a childrens' book.

Ugh.

6. I'm finicky about my little boy's books
He's only 4, so he relies on his parents to pick out some great stuff for him. We're bibliophiles in my family (MIL owns a bookstore in Britain), so there's LOTS to choose from... which means that, thankfully, I'll never have to so much as glance at written tripe from Madonna, thank you very much. Hasn't she other things to do that are better suited for her talents... isn't there a syphilitic crotch someplace that needs to be rubbed up against, or something...?

7. indeed puke on the idea
that becuase she is 'Madonna' she can write a children's book and that we should be buy it!

And what was with the phony accent I heard her on television being interviewed? I think she fancies herself the next JK Rowling.

When they talked about the 'book' it seemed rather adult in content and not suitable for children. I believe 'jealousy' was the made subject.
