Boo Berry & Franken Berry: Who else is addicted?

I was in my local Target store this weekend and what do I find???

BOO BERRY AND FRANKEN BERRY!!!!!

Where the HELL are these cereals all year!!??!?!?!??!?!?!?????

1. Did you ever see the Al Franken SNL skit

where he claimed that "Franken-Berry" stole his likeness and name for their cereal box? The funny thing was, he held the box up next to his face and he really did look like the Franken-Berry monster - round glasses and all! Very funny.

my name is mike and its been 3361 days since my last bowl of boo-berry, It was college and I knew I had to get myself into adult cerials, but man I miss that stuff.

They used to make a sugar cookie variety too. That was yummy.

A couple of weeks ago, when I bought and was reading his latest book, my 8 year old son asked me who Al Franken was. I told him he was the guy who invented Frankenberry. (I did fess up later up course.)

5. Not as good as they used to be - believe it or not.

Back in the late 70s when I was a kid, the cereal pieces were made of oats, so their texture was more like the Lucky Charms oat bits. Also had better flavor then.

Not too long ago I was nostalgic for the old monster cereals (they're very common here in Minnesota, being the corporate HQ of General Mills) but they have changed the pieces. They must be made of corn or rice now, because they have such a styrofoamy texture and the taste is... well... not very good.

Blah. They changed 'em for the worse. Much worse!
