1. I can't answer your question but...
I prefer Korean rap to Japanese pop.

5. Having worked on the record,
I can confirm that Art_from_Ark is correct - Ulfuls is the band in question.

9. I was the mixing engineer
I mixed the album "Banzai", from which this song was the title track. I'm based in NYC, but I've done a lot of work in Japan - most of it during the 90s. I'm sure we were there at the same time many times.

11. Have you done anything for "Tube"?
I think they had a big hit called "Megurikuru Season" back in '91.

12. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with them.
Perhaps they were a little before my time in Japan(?). My first project there was in '90, but I didn't start going there regularly until '92. If you like, you can have a look at my discography (mostly up to date) here:

13. Tube-- the Japanese Beach Boys--are still going
I'm surprised you haven't heard of them-- they were/are very big with the Shonan Beach set.

Have you ever heard of Off Course (what I call "The Japanese Beatles")? They were really popular at one time, but faded away about 20 years ago.

Or Miki Imai? Southern All-Stars?
