One of our cats is missing
For at least 2-3 days now.

She is not the smartest cat in the world, we hope the town got her.
She could be trapped in a garage, she likes going in those, or maybe a shed.
The kids are really bummed.
So am I.

1. I Hear You
One of my neighbors had a cat that was missing 4 days. Someone down the street found her up a tree where a dog had chased her. Nice cat but too dumb to get down after the dog had left.

Hope you find her soon.

3. Barring the worst outcome
she'll come home, or you'll find her in a hidey hole, tucked up due to the climatic changes that are about esp. if you are on the east coast.

damn cats can outlast anything short of nuclear, and then i think they have the roaches on edge in survivor mode, so i wouldn't worry.

keep kibbles about just in case, and make a big deal in putting them in the dish. She'll hear it.

peace,
dp

4. Good Idea
Might want to run an extension cord outside and run the can opener every 10 minutes or so. One of my Mom's cats thought that was the "Catsignal" for feeding time.

5. My goofball Ricky was once gone for three days
And crawled into bed one night at 3 in the morning. He tore a screen to get back into the house. He's a moron, I mean moran. But he's my moran and I love him.

Ricky:

6. did you call the animal shelter?
Maybe he got turned in there. You could put photos on telephone polls, too.

9. Did both of those today. Negative results.
If I were still in the Coast Guard, I would initiate the body recovery phase of the search... but, the kids and wife still hold out hope.

Check this out...

7. Don't forget to check the newspaper...
We found an injured cat once, and placed a "found" ad. The ad was almost on its last printing day when the owner called. The wild thing about it was she got her cat back on Thanksgiving...

I hope your wanderer returns soon!

8. I'll hold a good thought for you.
I don't know what I'd do if either of my little pea-brains disappeared on me.

10. Positive wishes headed your way
I know how it feels.

When I was growing up, all our kitties were indoor/outdoor cats. My mom was so good at training them, she taught them to come home to a whistle when it was time to be fed. I really like the idea of setting up the can opener outside--what sounds would your beast respond to, if he/she could hear it? Would it be worth taking a day off of work (when the neighborhood is fairly quiet) to tool around making whatever noise your cat might recognize?
