Seattle DUers, have you given up on the Mariners?
I just finished listening on the radio to them lose the 3d out of 4 games to the frigging Rangers.

Is there any hope as they start playing Oakland tomorrow night? They are 5 games out.

I am sooooooo depressed....

P.S. What the heck is the truth about Kaz, anyway? Why wasn't he brought in today?

2. It's depressing, true
After following this team since its inception, I'd like them to at least be in the World Series once! After their great start, I had high hopes for this year. No more.

And I don't know what's up with Kaz - I was wondering the same thing.

3. Well, at least the Seahawks are doing much better!
Mariners really fucked up by sending Jeff Nelson back to the Bushes of Baseball (Yankees). And it confused the hell out of me because I was out of the country when it happenned... came home two weeks later, saw Nelson back in an NY uniform and said :wtf:

5. Even worse, I'm a die hard Sonics fan
I will never get over the Kemp and GP trades. I'm still bitter over the '96 NBA Finals too.

6. Mad at the Braves here,
They lost to Montreal 5-4 one night and deprived Maddux of his 16th win to surpass Cy Young's record and then the next night they stomp Montreal 14-2. Why? Why? Why?

7. They appear to be toast for this year
The pitching staff is certainly not to blame. Any team that can consistently hold the opposing team to about 2 runs a game, and still lose two thirds of their games, needs to go shopping for hitters.
As in goodbye Cameron, Olerud, McLemore, and Wilson. Melvin probably should go too. He's not a really good manager. The only thing he and Billy Martin have in common are their initials.

8. Yep
Years ago, we could give up all hope by the All-Star game, now they string us along until mid September....

Go Seahawks!

10. No way.
I was rootin' for the little bastards before they knew how to win, and I'll be rootin for the little bastards long after the rest of the world has forgotten them.

11. I'm the same with the Cardinals.
I'm a life-long fan, but I'm thisclose to saying, "Wait until next year." But until we're officially eliminated, there's always hope, dammit!

12. Go Red Sox!
Actually, the Mariners' best hope is the wild card, since they're up against my beloved Red Sox, who will do their darndest to hand it to them!

14. Red Sox are hot, but....
I enjoyed seeing Lou Pienella's Devil Rays shut them out, just once.

Made my heart glad.

However, given the Sox's schedule the rest of the regular season, they are just about certain for the wild card. Should be interesting. I'll root for them over the Yankees for the pennant.

Haven't quite given up on the M's though...

13. Yeah, I'm with you, SOteric
All we need to do is sweep all six of the games with the
A's, right?

Piece of cake....

I'll be watching!! (and trying to keep my fingernails intact).

By the way, don't you think Melvin should knock out the intentional walks? They backfire every time...
